Purchased a MeerKat 50 for my son 3 years ago and was a bit aprehensive about the purchase of an unknown ATV. My son is 6 now and has thrashed the 50 and went over 1500 miles on it. The only thing I have done is change a spark plug and tighten the chain. This thing has been in water over the airbox twice. Normal drain and clean procedures followed after that but, after all was done if fired and ran great.
Some of the mods I did to it was as follows:
Offset Spacers front and rear
Opened up the Airbox with (4) 1/2 holes drilled in the back side so it could breath better.
Moved the Needle in the carb up 1 notch.
Opened the Exhaust Canister by drilling (4) 3/8 holes on the back above the original exhaust tube.
You will have to fine tune the air/fuel mixture screw and clean the air cleaner more often but, the Little 50 comes to life.
I would only do the engine mods after your daughter/son has ridden a bit because the 50 will become a bit more snappy.
Baby Falcon is on it\'s way, should have it Monday or Tuesday and the 50 is being ridden by other son who is now 3.
For all that are sceptics, you can pay the 3200.00-3900.00 or pay under 1000.00 for the same amount of fun.
